Job description

Emerald Technologies has an exciting opportunity for two Operations Supervisors to join its Brea, CA team! As a Southern California Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) contract manufacturer serving aerospace, medical, and other highโ€‘reliability industries, Emerald relies on strong frontline leadership to maintain quality, safety, and operational excellence across both buildings on second shift.

These two Supervisor roles will provide critical leadership coverage as we continue expanding secondโ€‘shift operations. One Supervisor will primarily oversee Surface Mount Technology (SMT) operations, while the second Supervisor will oversee the remaining production areas, including Building 2, ensuring both facilities receive consistent guidance, support, and oversight.

Responsibilities of the Operations Supervisor:

  • Lead daily operations โ€” Supervise secondโ€‘shift production activities, ensuring quality, throughput, and schedule adherence across assigned areas.
  • Provide people leadership โ€” Coach, mentor, and develop team members; conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure safety compliance โ€” Maintain a safe work environment, respond to safety concerns, and support building closure and endโ€‘ofโ€‘shift safety checks at 11 p.m.
  • Manage staffing and timekeeping โ€” Approve timecards, timeโ€‘off requests, and schedule adjustments in alignment with company policies.
  • Monitor KPIs โ€” Track productivity, quality, attendance, and other performance metrics; implement improvement plans as needed.
  • Resolve escalations โ€” Serve as the point of contact for operational issues, customer concerns, and crossโ€‘department coordination.
  • Drive continuous improvement โ€” Identify workflow, process, and efficiency opportunities to support operational excellence.

Qualifications of the Operations Supervisor:
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably PCBA or electronics.
  • Strong leadership and diplomacy โ€” Ability to motivate teams, manage conflict, and handle sensitive personnel matters with professionalism.
  • Safetyโ€‘focused mindset โ€” Experience enforcing safety protocols and supporting facility safety practices.
  • KPIโ€‘driven decisionโ€‘making โ€” Ability to interpret performance data and take action to improve results.
  • Excellent communication skills โ€” Clear, consistent communication across teams, shifts, and departments.
  • Proficiency with operational systems โ€” including experience using ADP or other HRIS platforms for timekeeping, employee management, and reporting (preferred).

Work Schedule
This position is assigned to Second Shift, with standard hours of 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. As part of secondโ€‘shift leadership, flexibility is expected to ensure adequate operational and safety coverage, including endโ€‘ofโ€‘shift building closure and support for any safetyโ€‘related needs that arise.
Work Hours
This is a fullโ€‘time, salaried role, typically 40 hours per week. Depending on customer demand and production requirements, Saturday overtime may be required. Additional hours may also be necessary to support operational needs or shiftโ€‘related responsibilities.
