About the role
Lilac is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead a team of mechanical, instrument, and electrical technicians supporting the construction, commissioning, and operation of chemical process equipment for production of ceramic ion exchange beads.
What you'll do
  • Provide hands-on, tactical leadership to a team of maintenance technicians in the commissioning, initial startup, and transition to full operation of a new ion exchange bead manufacturing unit.
  • Implement best practices and work processes such as maintenance procedures, planning & scheduling, work order management, condition monitoring, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee maintenance activities including testing, inspection, predictive, preventative, and precision maintenance to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation.
  • Lead the development of technicians by ensuring effective training and skills assessment to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality inspection, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ensure the necessary resources are provided to achieve maintenance and reliability objectives, including tools, materials, and an adequate number of well-trained technicians.
  • Continuously provide maintenance technicians with high quality coaching, feedback, and recognition to foster engaged performance, ongoing growth and development, and highly collaborative teamwork.
  • Coordinate with production and planning resources to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance work.
  • Lead the maintenance safety program by setting high standards, identifying high-risk situations, mitigating risks, performing behavioral safety observations, coaching on safe work practices, and conducting safety meetings.
  • Measure, monitor, track, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to set and achieve improvement objectives.

Required Qualifications
  • Engaging leadership skills and a drive to build an outstanding team and to treat others with integrity, respect, and fairness
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing or technical environment and a strong desire to learn, grow, and improve
  • 8+ years of maintenance or reliability experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • AAS in an applicable technical field or similar certification. Significant equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be capable of frequently/occasionally lifting 50lbs, wearing required PPE, working in tight spaces and at heights, ascending stairs and ladders, frequent walking and standing
  • Excited to work on a small, fast-paced startup teamt.

Compensation for this role is based on relevant experience, skills, and overall fit for the role. The range provided represents our typical compensation for this position, though actual pay may fall outside this range depending on qualifications.
