Human Resources Manager

Location: Mt. Juliet, TN (with occasional travel to Harrison, OH)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Position Summary

Powerex is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support our growing organization and lead the day-to-day execution of HR operations. Based in our Mt. Juliet location, this role will support employees and leaders across our two locations as well as members of our field-based sales team.

This is a hands-on HR role with broad exposure across the employee lifecycle. The HR Manager will be responsible for ensuring core HR processes run effectively while identifying opportunities to simplify, improve, and streamline how we work. The ideal candidate enjoys both the operational side of HR and the opportunity to take on increasingly strategic work as they develop within the organization.

Working closely with the Director of Human Resources and supported by a part-time HR Coordinator, this position offers significant visibility into the business and the opportunity to grow into broader HR leadership responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations and serve as a primary HR resource for employees and managers across the organization.
  • Coordinate recruiting and hiring activities, including job postings, candidate management, interviews, offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding.
  • Manage employee lifecycle processes including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, organizational changes, and separations.
  • Maintain accurate employee information and complete HR transactions within Workday and other HR systems.
  • Coordinate benefits, leave, payroll-related changes, and other employee programs in partnership with centralized support teams.
  • Support performance management, talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and other company-wide HR initiatives.
  • Partner with managers to ensure HR processes, policies, and programs are implemented consistently and effectively.
  • Maintain HR records, reporting, compliance requirements, and recurring HR activities.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve HR processes, with a focus on reducing administrative work and improving the employee and manager experience.
  • Develop and maintain HR processes, tools, documentation, and standard work that create greater consistency and efficiency.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational initiatives, and other strategic HR projects in partnership with the Director of Human Resources.
  • Provide support for additional HR priorities and projects as the needs of the business evolve.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist, HR Business Partner, or HR Manager capacity.
  • Broad working knowledge of HR practices across recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, performance management, HR systems, and employment compliance.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar operational environment preferred.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify inefficient processes and develop practical, sustainable improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is comfortable being hands-on today while helping build a more efficient HR function for tomorrow. The right person will be naturally curious, organized, resourceful, and interested in understanding the business beyond HR.

This role is particularly well suited for an HR professional who has developed a strong generalist foundation and is ready for greater ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to grow into broader HR leadership responsibilities.

Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class. If you require any reasonable accommodation to complete your application or any part of the recruiting process, please email your request to careers@marmon.com, and please be sure to include the title and the location of the position for which you are applying.
