Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton seeks an Operations Research Specialist to support Department of Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) with DCO AI Cyber Security Support.  Location: Fort Meade, MD.  In this role, you will operate as part of the Data Science Team conducting operational research and ASOM-aligned analysis on DoD cyber topics to inform decision-making and improve Commander situational awareness.  

 Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct operational research on cyber defense scenarios
  • Utilize statistical, mathematical, and simulation methods for planning support
  • Perform ASOM-aligned analysis to support tactical through strategic levels
  • Identify operational trends, root causes, and systemic vulnerabilities
  • Develop decision support models for resource allocation
  • Produce analytic findings that strengthen DODIN cyber posture
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • Strong background in operations research methodologies
  • Experience with simulation and optimization techniques
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB
  • Knowledge of DoD planning processes
  • Experience with decision analysis frameworks
  • U.S Citizenship required
  • DoD TS with ability to obtain/maintain SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • CAP (Certified Analytics Professional) Certification -- not required
  • Degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience

Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
