Job description

Description
The MIT Sloan School of Management (77 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA) is looking to award a one-year Postdoctoral Associate appointment, starting September 2023. These appointments are part of our ongoing efforts to increase the diversity of business/management school faculty.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate(s) must possess a recent Ph.D. or be near the completion of a Ph.D. prior to the start of employment, with a research topic relevant to Operations Research and Statistics. The Ph.D. could be in a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to computer science, operations research or statistics or other closely related field. The postdoctoral associate will work primarily with Dr. Swati Gupta to conduct cutting-edge research at the interface of operations research, optimization, and machine learning, with a focus on quantum optimization. Background in discrete and non-linear optimization is preferred. The term is for one year. We strongly encourage applicants to apply by August 10th to be fully considered, but we will continue reviewing applicants on a rolling basis. We will give a preference to candidates who demonstrate an interest and a willingness to conduct research and collaborate with the broader MIT Sloan faculty, and interest in teaching graduate-level courses in a business/management school environment.
