Job description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. JOB DUTIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in developmental and operational testing of internal and external customer systems. Interface between instrumentation engineers and test customers to ensure that parametric data required is available for test data analysis and accurately reflects the system configuration and operational characteristics. Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties: Provide or assist with leadership, organization, vision, innovation, and supervisory skills to a technical branch Provide detailed Technical Expertise on the test process, and range environment and capability Perform as EW, RF and Protocol Subject Matter Expert in a specialized area Improve processes, systems, and procedures to obtain efficiencies Develop advanced data analysis tools, processes, or products for complex analysis Provide analytical mentorship to mid-level and junior analysts Analyze pre-test predictions to design test events and profiles, define data collection requirements and go no-go criteria to meet complex test objectives; Brief complex mission execution plans Conduct and direct complex test activities from control centers and provide expert system performance monitoring RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION KEY RESPONSIBILITES: Provide simulation support for the Joint Simulation Environment project at Nellis AFB, building simulations to support USAF operational test and training missions. Perform control room functions, including role-playing for constructive air assets, to support test and training exercises. Assist in developing test planning, test conduct, test processes, test reports, operational procedures, data deliverables, and safety packages. SIMULATION SUPPORT: Configure the battle space, perform post-test reconfigurations, and prepare the virtual environment with customer-defined threat laydowns. Develop and implement threat configurations, System Under Test (SUT) configurations, and weapons configurations. Operate and act as a flyer/operator within the simulation environment to support verification and validation. TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP: Instruct, mentor, and demonstrate to fellow flyers and engineers the threat system, operations, sensor systems, communication and navigation systems, and Pilot Vehicle Interface (PVI). MODELING AND SIMULATION: Provide modeling and simulation support for the development, upgrade, operations, and integration of constructive, real-time, and virtual piloted simulators. Support the flying quality, airframe, propulsion, avionics, sensors, weapon, and electronic warfare mission areas. ENGINEERING SUPPORT: Provide operations engineering support for test planning working groups, design reviews, and other related testing activities. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Completion of technical training and at least 20 years of related experience; or an associate degree and 16 years of related experience; or a related bachelor’s degree (engineering, math, computer science, or physics) and 14 years of related experience; or a related Master’s degree and 10 years of related experience. The incumbent must understand concepts, principles, and practices of engineering and analysis to enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in technology to solve problems in the specialty area. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadline.
