Operations Manager (Quality Control & Process Improvement)

We are an automotive logistics company seeking an organized and energetic Operations Manager to join our growing team. This individual will be a key player in ensuring the overall quality control of KD parts, FIFO control, sorting, line-call control and EPI management while driving process and continuous improvement to contribute to the overall operational success.

Department: Consolidation Center/Operations/Quality Control

Reports to: Operations Senior Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift (Expected from 6:00AM-3:30PM) (Rotating weekends and overtime may be required) (Schedule is subject to change based on production requirements)

Location: Onsite, Ellabell, GA 31308 (Must have the ability to commute within the neighboring facilities for customer relations, meetings, events, etc.)

Responsibilities for an Operations Manager:

  • Lead oversight, implementation, and management of overall quality systems and processes.
  • Champion of developing QC team members overall quality knowledge and successful execution of QC roles and processes.
  • Manage new vehicle launching for parts at HMGMA, create pilot part inspection plan, communicate results and improvement plan to Glovis Sr Leadership.
  • Review and close monthly process defect claims.
  • Support annual ISO 9001&14001 certifications renewals as ISO standard require.
  • Support return of the parts to Korea or Local Suppliers as requested. (Part removal request, TRF request, etc.)
  • Monitor and patrol the KD/LP parts located in CC to be able to detect any package issues and other problem in advance.
  • Provide direction, support, and any further information to team members working on PM shift to maintain job duty at PM shift.
  • Champion in researching and implementing Process Improvement Opportunities to optimize logistics operation processes and quality control procedures.
  • Drive overall strategies to continuously improve utilization of WMS system in the organization.
  • Prepare, analyze, update & maintain logistical masters (e.g., material masters) in WMS.
  • Produce error-free month end closing data reports, review and present their results (e.g., time sheets).
  • Manage PPR (Part Problem Report) registration process.
  • Weekly report out of quality metrics, leading communication to stakeholders regarding quality updates and initiatives. Follow up with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and support.
  • Manage and coordinate various subcontractor companies as needed to support sort or rework activities.
  • Coordinate projects related to WMS systems.
  • Develop business relationships with suppliers and clients.
  • Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships.
  • Analyze data to anticipate future needs.
  • Report to upper management on process issues, improvement point and system updates, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities for an Operations Manager:

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Quality or Process Improvement related field such as Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality control, quality engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding and experience implementing process or continuous improvement practices.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and a strong understanding of building and developing data through spreadsheets, pivot tables, v look-up, etc. is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing, logistics, or parts management is a plus.
  • At least 5 years' experience in management or supervising.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the Operations Manager is $106,000-$112,000. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
