Job Description: Lead, Project Management

The Operations Project Manager (OPM) oversees all Operations efforts related to contract execution and is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring projects from beginning to end, according to strict deadlines and budgets. The OPM acts as the point of contact between Manufacturing, Procurement, Test, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Program Management. They ensure cost and schedule conformance on assigned projects by coordinating the procurement, build, and test of complex electronic systems. A successful candidate should be able to:

  • Be a self-starter with a track record of identifying and implementing creative solutions to complex problems
  • Demonstrate attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Excel in a team environment with the ability to avoid and resolve conflict
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills
  • Excel in high-stress/high-visibility environments, including public speaking and creating formal presentations

Essential Functions:

  • Strong understanding of production budgets using Earned Value Management (EVM) to analyze, manage, and report on budget performance, including variance analysis, cost and schedule efficiency (CPI/SPI), forecasting (EAC/ETC), and stakeholder communication
  • Accurately estimate sales forecasts for labor and material
  • Coordinate with Master Schedulers and Master Planners to develop baseline production plans
  • Perform lead-time and critical path analysis on multi-level hardware builds
  • Identify and coordinate resources necessary for production efforts
  • Interface and communicate with all levels of the organization

Qualifications:

  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of the job area. May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Related experience in manufacturing, production, or other highly schedule-based environments

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability in financial or data analysis and monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability in business and/or technical writing, public speaking, and creating formal presentations
  • Experience using schedule management tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems
