Job description

OVERVIEW:
The Boxing Program Aid is primarily responsible to assist in all Red Shield Boxing programming
The Program Aide shall work under direct supervision of the Operation Manager and Program Manager and work closely with other program staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in all boxing programs and activities
  • Monitor activities in boxing and ensure all members have been registered for class at Kiosk
  • Help promote and stimulate involvement in activities of the center
  • Recognize potential discipline problems and try to correct them before they become disruptive to the program. Major or continual disciplinary authority for proper follow-up
  • NOTE: The goal of disciplinary measures or actions should be to change the behavior of the individual and attempt to create a positive change in their attitude
  • After any organized activity it is your responsibility to make sure all equipment and/or supplies are properly stored. The activity area must be cleaned up by the class and instructors
  • Needed program supplies should be requested through the Program Manager well before they are needed
  • Any illegal activity taking place on center property must be reported to the Program Manager, or evening supervisor and proper authorities called. In the event the Program Manager is unavailable, contact the Operation Manager
  • Interact with boxers, assist in drills, sparring and training
  • Help in the 2 major boxing events by setting up matches and seeing through logistics of the events.
  • Be present for all boxing committee meetings
  • Train volunteers and community service workers assigned to your area
  • Meet Child Safety regulations and abide by them
  • Must attend all staff training and meetings
  • Assist in fundraising and community center events as needed ex: Christmas, Kidz Day, holiday events, Family Nights
  • Any schedule change needs immediate supervisor Operation Manager, Program Manager and/or Corps Officers approval
  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Experience in boxing (Required)
  • CA Driver's License (Required)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Maturity in dealing with the public
  • Self-motivated individual
  • CPR/First Aid certified
  • Safe Sport certified

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

EQUIPMENT USED:
  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
