Job description

This position is responsible for the development and administrative management work in a practice of multi-disciplinary health services in an ambulatory setting. This individual will be responsible for the planning, organization, and coordination of the operational activities to ensure that effective services occur in the clinics and are provided to the community. Develops and maintains systems and creatively solves problems.
General Responsibilities
  • Plans, develops, implements, evaluates and monitors administrative and operational policies, procedures and processes.
  • Identifies, develops and implements all policies and procedures directing clinic operations as approved.
  • Ensures patient flow between waiting room and exam rooms to ensure patients are seen as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Responsible for ensuring the ordering of all medical supplies, equipment, forms, and medications. Works closely with the Clinical Supervisor to ensure the clinic(s) are sufficiently supplied.
  • Coordinates HEDIS reviews for patient records with all managed care systems.
  • Ensures that all Information Systems are operational to ensure functional systems with computers, telephone systems and software programs with relation to clinic operations.
  • Ensures all customer service needs within the clinic areas related to patient care are addressed. This would include problem solving and handling for patient billing, complaints, refunds, etc.

Education and/or Experience
  • Associates degree required with a focus in health care, business, or related discipline. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • State of Michigan Registered Nursing License preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in health care or human service-related organizations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the theory and practice of operations and management, preferably in health care and/or not-for-profit environment. Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Able to demonstrate positive customer service skills.
