Position Purpose

The Operations Planning & Store Processes team is responsible for expense control, profit enhancement, increasing sales and improving customer service and partner satisfaction through the use of analytical and reporting tools.

Within the team, you are the analytics expert that guides our strategic focus for various business units, leverages advanced analytical techniques, and translates complex methodologies and analyses into clear insights, compelling visualizations, and tangible actions that can be executed by the business.

Essential Job Functions

The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Leverage advanced analytical techniques and programming languages to mine through massive data to uncover drivers of performance. Independently develop relationships with key stakeholders and identify new analyses to better understand initiative effectiveness, customer and partner responses, and ultimately uncover opportunity to enhance overall experience.
  • Perform in depth analyses and modeling for various workforce management initiatives, including topics such as wage rate influences, staffing recommendations, and other impacts to workforce management.
  • Influence strategic decisions and create accurate financial models based on deep customer/partner behavior analyses and the assessment and thorough understanding of complex business initiatives, with tangible recommendations to optimize customer/partner acquisition/retention, and financial/operational performance.
  • Identify and introduce new methods to solve complex business problems, and perform in-depth analysis and data mining.
  • Utilize exceptional communication skills to present findings across the business by effectively translating complex data and analysis into clear insights, opportunities, and tangible business recommendations; regular updates to senior leadership required.
  • Develop automated dashboards and build compelling data visualizations that effectively measure, track, and quantify changes in customer and partner metrics.
  • Manage complex long‑term projects from initial scoping through full execution and training with inputs from a variety of cross‑functional teams (IT, Merchandising, Marketing).
  • Display deep intellectual curiosity, creativity, and commitment to learning in order to solve critical business problems and push the boundary of our capabilities.

Nature of Supervision

Incumbent is expected to make independent decisions in their functional areas that align with corporate objectives. Incumbent will be provided general direction from their Director, with little direct supervision.

Planning and Problem Solving

Expected to plan, prioritize and complete multiple projects with varying deadlines under minimal supervision. The incumbent will regularly be required to use their judgment when preparing analyses and determining best approaches to solve broad business problems, ensuring that all risks and opportunities have been evaluated.

Impact

The incumbent will help drive corporate strategies by ensuring customer and partner data is accurate, providing reports on key metrics to senior leaders, and working with the broader analytics team to provide timely insights that improve the customer and partner experience.

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct reports. Incumbent will collaborate and lead cross‑functional business projects.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, math or related business field; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in analytics capacity
  • Experience with data warehouses, reporting tools, and statistical programming languages required (MicroStrategy, Tableau, SQL) required.
  • Expert in Excel with advanced functions, pivots, lookups, macros, dashboards, etc.
  • Experience building large data sets across disparate sources required.
  • Advanced reporting and presentation skills required (MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator)
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new analytic and data manipulation techniques.
  • Experience in the retail industry strongly preferred
  • Ability to think conceptually and creatively about problems and solutions
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written, required due to the nature and level of interaction with senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines

Work Environment
