Job description

Position Summary

The Operations Manager (Production Manager) leads a team that can be comprised of a combination of supervisors, material handlers, operators, planners, maintenance or warehouse personnel in the execution of processing and operational requirements that can include the shipping and maintenance departments of the facilities. This person will have budget responsibility for their respective departments of responsibility.

This role requires in-person work 5 days/week in Northborough, MA. Relocation assistance is provided. This role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship of H1B Transfer.

What You'll do as an Operations Manager
  • Leads the implementation of corporate safety and health programs to establish and ensure a safe working environment, including establishing accountability systems that improve compliance and safety results
  • Drives all continuous improvement processes at a shop-floor level, including lean operational culture, safety and safety improvement events, quality requirements. Fosters a culture that promotes continuous improvement of people and processes.Audits standard work, countermeasures.
  • Manages capacity planning process to develop plans to meet Customer requirements, assess new business, and maintain positive Customer relationships.
  • Has P&L responsibility for their respective departments of responsibility.
  • Improves and resolves internal complaints with assistance of Plant Manager.
  • Improves and resolves external business-related complaints working with operations staff.
  • Provides for and ensures training of newly placed employees in all classificaitons occurs.
  • Routine Customer interaction related to all facets of Customer processing and shipping needs.
  • Provide support to Customer audits and Quality investigations.
  • Support Customer visits and Business Reviews.
  • Improve Safety and Quality metrics while handling Customer products, operating equipment and performing routine job functions.
  • Manage and improve area expenses to ensure P&L targets are achieved.
  • Customer Service - Ensure Customer processing needs are met from inbound receipt of product to return shipment.
  • Improve accuracy during product processing to eliminate Customer product damage and process nonconformances, investigating Quality issues as needed.
  • Improve employee engagement through use of Lean Principles to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Plus 8 years of operations experience.
  • Plus 8 years of leadership experience.
    • OR High School Diploma/GED
    • Plus 12 years of operations experience.
    • Plus 7 years of leadership experience.
  • Budget preparation.
  • Working across plant locations and with corporate functions.
  • Driving diverse and complex agendas (Customer, employee, SQDC).
  • Talent selection and development.
  • Planning, coordinating cross-shift/ department activities.
  • Managing leaders.
  • Adapting plans, resources to meet production requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a regulated industry, such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
  • Union experience.
  • Experience with product sterilization.
  • Trending & process control.

Pay range for this opportunity is $105,000 - $125,000.This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
