The Engineer will provide Engineering support across various sections of the Operations department in the Nuclear Operations Group Lynchburg. Work areas include: Weld Processes, General Manufacturing, Machining, Assembly Operations, and Structural Design/Evaluations.
Job Description/Duties:
  • Develops and delivers unique engineering solutions used in a nuclear manufacturing environment.
  • Creates and updates drawings and procedures.
  • Track, trend, and analyze data from development efforts and production campaigns.
  • Make recommendations based upon analyzed data.
  • Troubleshoot issues and develops paths forward.
  • Support of shop floor operations, resolve issues and generate process improvement ideas.
  • Frequent communication with customer counterparts on process and product related topics.
  • Ensures compliance to contract specifications (contract, drawing, etc.)
  • Utilizes Change Management Tools and Systems.
  • Authors customer submittals to support component certifications.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates multiple engineering activities.
  • Performs process monitoring on applicable processes and products.
  • Interprets contract and drawing requirements to create/modify Operating Procedures, Guidelines, Forms, and Programs.
  • Participates in design, testing, analysis, project management, and procurement of materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must currently have or will have an Engineering or Physics Degree by May 2026.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
