Accountability
Reports directly to Building Manager Student Manager and takes direction from Building Operations Manager.


Responsibilities
The Building Manager is responsible for maintaining the security, order, and safety of the DUC and occupants. The Building Manager coordinates emergency procedures within the Centers, serves as a contact and provides immediate assistance for special events, conferences and other events, while providing excellent customer service.

Specific Duties

  • Responsible for the opening and closing duties daily in the Dreyfus University Center and maintaining the safety and security of the building and its' occupants
  • Using the computerized Event Management System (EMS) to run, read and interpret the reports for the daily events in the building and ensure all events are set up as scheduled
  • Maintain contact with the full-time and student staff from various departments in the Dreyfus University Center and assist in areas as requested by the staff
  • Meet with event planners and be the main point of contact for customers and their event needs
  • Accommodate last minute requests or changes that may be required while adhering to DUC and departments policies
  • Enforce all building policies, manage conflict and supervise building usage
  • Provide assistance to users of the DUC with architectural lighting and audio visual systems that do not require Program Services staff assistance
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, trainings and orientations and complete special projects as assigned by the Student Manager
  • Provide light custodial services and building set up as needed
  • Document events on an hourly basis to formulate a comprehensive and professional computerized report of the events from each day
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Wage Classification
*** Applicant must complete Adult CPR, AED, and First AID certification courses within 8 weeks of beginning employment (certification sessions will be provided by the University Centers); and these certifications must be kept up-to-date throughout employment with the University Centers.***
