About Trail Operations

Teck’s Trail Operations, located in the community of Trail in British Columbia, is one of the world’s largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Located in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern, British Columbia, Trail offers outdoor adventure at your fingertips. 

Role Overview

Teck is looking for an experienced Cement Mason Journeyperson to join our team at our Trail Operations. Reporting to the Group Leader, the Cement Mason is responsible for planning and performing rough and finish concrete, sulphur-crete and rock masonry work in construction and maintenance and to apply over coating to resurface and restore surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Preparing surfaces before pouring concrete, i.e. levelling and grading the area, removing debris, and setting up necessary forms and moulds.
  • Reading and understanding directions for using different patching materials
  • Reading and understanding blueprints
  • Layout and install off types of joints, i.e. expansion, construction and contraction
  • Installing anchors using Hilti epoxy and/or wet setting
Qualifications
  • Interprovincial Red Seal Cement Mason or Concrete Finisher Certification (please upload copy of certification with your application)
  • Industrial maintenance experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems is considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay Range: $51.09 per hour

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
