Shop Supervisor Truck & Equipment Repair

We are looking for a Shop Supervisor to join our growing Summit Truck & Equipment Repair team in the Salmo, BC. As the Shop Supervisor, you are an organized and results-driven service professional with experience coordinating repair and maintenance operations, managing work orders, and scheduling technician workloads. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and supporting mechanics and apprentices in a fast-paced shop environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prioritize repair and maintenance jobs and schedule work for Mechanics.
  • Open and close work orders, ensuring all data is correct.
  • Track Mechanics time.
  • Prepare work orders for the Service Manager.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the work order.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain required parts.
  • Communicate with Service Manager if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Work in compliance with Company Health & Safety policies, and OHSA standards.
  • Instruct Mechanics and Apprentices in proper procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Experience managing and delegating tasks to team members.
    • Experience in truck and trailer maintenance and repair is an asset.
    • Valid Class 5 Driver's License required. Class 1 license would be an asset.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow in an efficient manner.
    • Working knowledge of CVSE inspection standards and the Motor Vehicle Act of Canada.
    • Teamwork and ability to share knowledge by teaching and coaching junior Mechanics.

      • Wage is $27-$35 per hour, depending on experience.
      • 4 on/4 off rotation with 11.75-hour day shifts. No night shifts!
