Job description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of multiple dealership locations within assigned region. This position ensures compliance with established policies and procedures. This position directs, plans, and controls all activities of branch profit centers through coordination with department managers.

Responsibilities:
  • Staffs and trains Parts, Service and Body Shop Department Managers as required.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and department managers to convert broad programs to specific plans.
  • Aids department managers in the development of their performance targets, programs and plans in accordance with company goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate each department's operating results and performance against pre-determined objectives.
  • Consult with General Manager and department managers regarding personnel decisions.
  • Assist General Manager and department managers with major, target or critical accounts.
  • Assist General Manager in assessing present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the branch.
  • Assist General Manager in implementing short and long term operating and financial objectives for assigned location, within the Company's overall plans and policies.
  • Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied throughout the departments.
  • Assist General Manager in formulating annual and monthly business plan, sales/profit objectives and expense budgets with department managers, which are in accordance with the Company's objectives.
  • Develop merchandising strategies with the department managers to ensure that objectives are obtained.
  • Assist General Manger in supervising the direct sale of trucks, parts, service, and body repairs.
  • Assist General Manager in ensuring the branch is in compliance with local, state and federal government regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate communications within and between various department and functional areas within the assigned location, and hold individual conferences as required.
  • Establishes and maintains satisfactory customer and public relations.
