Job description

The Operations Manager will work with the Area Vice President and other leadership to develop, plan, and lead regional activities to achieve financial objectives. This includes traveling to each business center in the region to be a present part of the team, providing hands-on leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with superior to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress.
  • Supervise staff from different departments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Regularly evaluate the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.
  • Oversee customer support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
  • Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation.
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors.
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations.
  • Obtain and maintain regional equipment.
  • Direct pre-bid investigation work to ensure accurate bids are submitted to customers.
  • Coordinate crew functions with other regions and subcontractors when necessary.
  • Assist with pre-bid and pre-construction conferences/meetings.
  • Ensure that appropriate safety training, supplies, and equipment are provided.
  • Resolve construction related job problems.
  • Review field costs for bidding and efficiency purposes.
  • Identify new growth opportunities for additional services.

Qualifications:
  • Preferred candidates will have a BS degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years' industry experience - water/sewer or municipal environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years' management experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Hybrid position with travel required at least 3 days a week to work with area leadership.
  • Position will be responsible for the Southeast Region.
