The Onsite Operations Manager will lead and direct all manufacturing operations within the wire drawing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while meeting customer quality and delivery requirements. This position is responsible for overseeing production, maintenance, material flow, inventory management, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Direct and coordinate all manufacturing activities related to wire drawing, processing, packaging, and distribution.
  2. Maintain accountability for production performance across all shifts and departments.
  3. Develop staffing plans, prepare work schedules, and assign responsibilities to supervisors and production personnel.
  4. Ensure operational performance meets company expectations regarding safety, productivity, quality, scrap reduction, labor utilization, and budget objectives.
  5. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, improve throughput, and strengthen operational performance.
  6. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to support customer demand and production schedules.
  7. Collaborate closely with Materials Management to execute production schedules and respond effectively to changing customer requirements.
  8. Support supplier performance initiatives to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and services required for operations.
  9. Ensure employee training and skill development programs are properly implemented and maintained.
  10. Identify training and development needs for operators, technicians, and supervisors.
  11. Partner with Maintenance leadership to establish equipment priorities and ensure wire drawing machinery and support equipment achieve required performance levels.
  12. Ensure customer orders are produced and shipped on time while meeting all quality requirements.
  13. Lead initiatives focused on productivity improvements, scrap reduction, equipment effectiveness, workplace safety, and cost control.
  14. Maintain high standards for housekeeping, workplace organization, and 5S throughout the facility.
  15. Manage facility operations to achieve production goals while maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service.
  16. Provide leadership, coaching, and development to Production Supervisors and department leaders.
  17. Work closely with Materials, Maintenance, Quality, and Shipping departments to ensure efficient material flow, equipment readiness, quality performance, and customer delivery.
  18. Monitor key operational metrics, including throughput, yield, labor efficiency, downtime, safety performance, and customer service levels.
  19. Promote a culture of accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
  • Technical degree, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within wire drawing, metal processing, steel manufacturing, or similar industrial operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing production teams, budgets, quality systems, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, inventory control, and production planning.
General Requirements:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on management style with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.
