Job description

The Sagebrush Inn opened in 1929 as a 13-room hotel serving travelers along a historic trade route and has since evolved into the newly restored Sagebrush Inn & Suites. Today, the property combines modern comforts and conveniences with distinctive Southwestern charm. Guests enjoy 156 well-appointed guestrooms and suites, complimentary breakfast, and onsite dining. The inn also offers spacious event spaces with impressive Sangre De Cristo mountain views. Its welcoming atmosphere reflects years of collaboration among satisfied guests and dedicated team members.


The Sales & Catering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Sagebrush Inn & Suites in Taos, NM. This role is responsible for selling hotel rooms and coordinating events, including meetings, banquets, weddings, and group bookings, from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up. Day-to-day work includes prospecting and managing client relationships, preparing proposals and contracts, creating banquet event orders and collaborating with operations, food & beverage, and front desk teams to ensure flawless execution. The manager will oversee event details such as menus, room layouts, timelines, and setups, while monitoring budgets and revenue targets. This position also involves participating in marketing efforts, conducting site and guest room tours, maintaining accurate records in sales systems, and representing the property at community and industry events.


Qualifications

  • Experience Hospitality, group sales, catering and food & beverage operations, including understanding of event menus and banquet service.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships, manage expectations, and handle guest concerns professionally.
  • Proven sales, account management, or hospitality sales experience, preferably in hotels or event venues.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and timeline management.
  • Ability to work on-site, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • 1+ years supervisory experience, leading and training team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce software and basic sales or event management systems; familiarity with POS or catering software is a plus.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, events, or tourism in the Taos region or similar destination markets is beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality, business, or related fields is advantageous.

Annual Compensation Range $42-55k.
