Operations Manager - Manufacturing & Fabrication

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee daily manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly operations. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing production teams, optimizing workflows, and delivering projects on schedule in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee daily operations within fabrication, manufacturing, and equipment assembly departments.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop production personnel to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and performance objectives.

  • Manage production schedules, labor resources, workflow priorities, and operational activities to meet customer and business requirements.

  • Monitor manufacturing processes and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase productivity.

  • Coordinate with leadership, supervisors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and on-time delivery.

  • Establish and maintain a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Analyze operational performance metrics and identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Utilize production management systems and technology tools to track schedules, production status, labor utilization, and operational performance.

  • Support workforce planning, staffing initiatives, training programs, and employee development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant industry experience will be considered.

  • Proven leadership experience within manufacturing, fabrication, industrial production, equipment assembly, or related environments.

  • Strong understanding of production workflows, fabrication processes, equipment assembly, and shop operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive operational improvements.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Proficiency with computer systems, production tracking software, and operational reporting tools.

Preferred Experience

  • Fabrication and welding operations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout manufacturing and fabrication facilities.

  • Comfortable working in environments with exposure to machinery, welding operations, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
