Dining Services Operations Manager
This position oversees dining services operations in the St. James Place Square and assists with the proper execution of dining services operations and events across campus. The Operations Manager provides effective leadership and supervision to the dining staff and ensures resident satisfaction with an excellent dining experience.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED minimum; higher education in food service management preferred.
  • 5 or more years of proven professional experience with dining service and supervision.
  • ServSafe Certification.
  • Proficient computer skills; ability to utilize MS Office applications and additional software as it applies to the position.

Essential Functions
Operations
  • Oversees Dining Services operations in the SJP Square and assists with the proper execution of dining services operations and events across campus as needed. Assists the Dining Services Department to ensure smooth service and operational efficiency of the front and back-of-the-house operations
  • Ensures high standards of food quality and service.
  • Engages with guests, resolves complaints, and maintains high satisfaction and loyalty levels.
  • Monitors inventory levels, orders food and supplies, and maintains relationships with vendors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assists in budget preparation, adheres to budget standards, and implements cost control measures.
  • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Leadership
  • Provides effective supervision, motivation, and leadership to team members.
  • Provides effective training to team in areas of oversight and delegates duties as necessary.
  • Ensures accountability of team and applies effective coaching and counseling as needed.
  • Conducts timely performance reviews for team members.
  • Edits and approves team time and attendance; schedules team members to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Conducts effective interviews and ensures adequate staffing.
  • Ensures that required paperwork is submitted timely to HR.
  • Works in conjunction with the Director of Dining Services on development and revision of policies and procedures related to areas of oversight.

Work Hours
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and various holidays and irregular hours when needed.
  • Required to participate in the departmental on-call schedule.
  • May be designated essential personnel in the event of emergency situations, including hurricanes, evacuation, fire, flood, etc., and be required to remain on campus. for the duration of the emergency.
