Position SummaryThe Business Operations Associate/Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a growing insurance organization. This position serves as a central operational resource, partnering with Operations, Underwriting, Technology, Compliance, and Shared Services teams to coordinate workflows, support reporting initiatives, track operational performance, and drive process improvements across the business.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with data, managing competing priorities, and creating structure within a fast-paced environment. This role offers exposure to multiple areas of the business and opportunities for long-term career growth across Operations, Underwriting, Claims, and other functional areas.Location: This role will work on a hybrid basis out of our NW Houston office (20445 State Highway 249 Suite 240 Houston, TX 77070)What will your job entail?Job ResponsibilitiesSupport operational workflows and business processes across multiple departments to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.Prepare, maintain, and analyze operational reports, performance metrics, and business data using Excel and other reporting tools.Assist with bordereaux reporting, data management activities, and operational data validation.Track and monitor key operational activities, including endorsements, binder renewals, technology requests, and workflow performance.Coordinate and follow up on business requests, projects, and action items to ensure timely completion and resolution.Partner with business and technology teams to support system enhancements, issue resolution, and operational improvements.Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflow documentation, and training materials.Identify process improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.Support onboarding, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across operational teams.Assist with audits, compliance reviews, operational reporting, and special projects as needed.Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide visibility into operational priorities, project status, and workflow activity.Prioritize multiple assignments and adapt to changing business needs in a dynamic environment.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.3+ years of experience in business operations, project coordination, reporting, analytics, administration, client service, or a related field.Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize, analyze, and report on data.Experience working with operational reports, data tracking, workflow management, or process coordination.Exposure to Power BI, dashboard reporting, business intelligence tools, or operational metrics reporting.Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Experience creating SOPs, workflow documentation, training materials, or process maps.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain attention to detail.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and accountability.Preferred Qualifications3+ years of experience in the insurance industry, including operations, underwriting support, claims, or related functions.Experience working with ticketing systems, workflow management platforms, or enterprise business systems.Familiarity with process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency projects.Experience using Microsoft Copilot, IMS, or similar business applications.Experience supporting cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects or priorities simultaneously.Ryan Specialty is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
