Summary:
-Responsible for managing the operations of a dynamic pharmacy department including personnel and pharmacy systems. Collaborates closely with pharmacy leadership and patient care teams to achieve departmental goals and objectives, develops quality and safety initiatives, and ensures regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to optimize operational systems, labor, and efficiencies. Implements recommendations for process improvement including cost effectiveness, operational efficiency, and inventory management.Manages automation resources and resolves technology issues to assure appropriateness of preparation, distribution, administration and monitoring outcomes of the medication management system.Assists the Director of Pharmacy in the management of pharmacy services.Plans and monitors staffing and scheduling needs, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, coaching, corrective actions, competencies and licensure requirements. Conduct employee performance assessments including assessment of competency, employee satisfaction, standards of behavior, and compliance with departmental, institutional, and regulatory requirements.Provides direct oversight of staffing resources and inventory management to achieve continual monthly/yearly budgeting and the forecasting of strategic financial goals.Lead the planning, developing, implementation, and ongoing assessment of operational and clinical pharmacy services, goals, standards, and objectives in accordance with current practice guidelines to directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.Enforces policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety and quality measures along with regulatory requirements from state, federal, and accrediting bodies.Collaborates with individuals and groups to build positive and productive working relationships to identify problems and resolutions.

Complexity of Work: The role requires advanced technological, analytical and critical thinking skills including effective verbal and written communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to lead a diverse team in a stressful environment effectively. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to prioritize multiple projects and delegate tasks to ensure timely completion.
Required Work Experience: Three (3) years supervisory experience or equivalent. Consultant Pharmacist licensure preferred.
