These internships typically involve assisting with process optimization, analyzing workflows, coordinating between departments, and supporting the implementation of operational strategies. Interns often learn about supply chain management, logistics, inventory control, and quality assurance. These experiences can help individuals build essential skills and gain industry knowledge, making them more competitive for future roles in operations management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Operations Management Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Operations Management Intern, you need strong analytical skills, basic understanding of supply chain concepts, and coursework in business or management. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP, and data analytics tools is typically expected. Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a proactive attitude help interns stand out in dynamic operational environments. These skills and qualities are critical for supporting efficient processes, driving continuous improvement, and contributing meaningfully to team goals.

Job description

Please include a cover letter so we can get to know you better and understand why you believe you will be a good fit for our team! Applications submitted without a cover letter will not be considered.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking smart and talented young professionals to join our Corporate Operations Internship Program. The Ally Behavior's Corporate Operations Internship Program is a selective, high-potential program in which participants complete up to 4 departmental rotations within our corporate office over a 3-month period. Internships begin on a rolling basis, with flexible start dates based on candidate schedules. This program is the ideal role for someone looking to get entry-level experience in healthcare operations and administration. The right candidate will have extremely strong attention to detail in addition to being professional, energetic, organized and driven. You don't mind wearing different hats and take the initiative to get things done. We will train you on the specific job responsibilities, although the right fit will quickly and easily pick up responsibilities and manage them on their own. We are looking for a smart and talented person who wants to be part of an elite, fast growing organization.

Ally Behavior is a dynamic, fun, and rewarding place to work that offers superior growth and leadership opportunities in a supportive, engaging environment. We have a unique and collaborative culture that is driven by our diverse team of professionals and our core values of Serving Others, Treatment Excellence, All One Ally, Resourceful in Finding Solutions, and Striving to Grow. Our comprehensive onboarding and training approach will support and prepare you to help us provide the best possible service to our clients!

Professional Development & Job Responsibilities:

  • Complete up to 4 departmental rotations within our corporate office (Enrollment & Marketing, Human Resources & Talent Acquisition, Insurance & Revenue Cycle, and Center Operations Management)
  • Each rotation will consist of several projects that will help move the company forward + the completion of shadowing checklists for all core responsibilities in each department
  • Filing, organizing, data entry, research, cleaning, and completing other administrative duties and tasks as assigned
  • Gain a foundation for future success in business in an entrepreneurial, non-bureaucratic environment where your input is valued and implemented
  • Explore various career interests within the corporate realm and identify where you thrive
  • Enhance your business management skills under direct mentorship from senior leadership

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be currently pursuing at least a Bachelor's level degree
  • Must be available to work for at least a 3 month period
  • Must be able to pass MD/VA state and FBI background check in addition to a sex offender background check

What You Will Bring:

  • You have the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time
  • You have the ability to work in a fast-paced, always changing environment, and are willing to do whatever is needed to achieve our company's mission
  • You are completing your Bachelor's and do well in school. What you are studying isn't all that important to us. Maybe it's healthcare administration, maybe it's basket weaving
  • You demonstrate strong and fluent written and oral communication skills. This should shine through in your cover letter - show us your style and professionalism
  • You are compassionate and have a high EQ - we work with families who have children with developmental delays. You take pride in excellent customer service and patient experience
  • You like to work really hard and aren't just collecting a paycheck and letting the time pass. Excellent performance and building something special is what you find most fulfilling in life. If you have a project on your plate, you won't stop just because it's 5pm
  • You are self-motivated and want to move up and grow with our ever-expanding company
  • You have varied interests and passions that you can dive deeply into. Maybe you love Russian Literature, minor in it in school, and are part of a local book club with some like-minded friends

What We Offer When Joining Our Team:

  • Hourly pay
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Mentorship from executive professionals
  • Opportunity to transition to full-time work post graduation, based on internship performance
