Job description

OverviewThe Operations Management Intern will participate in a structured leadership development internship designed to provide hands-on exposure to transit operations, workforce management, compliance, and operational leadership within MV Transportation.

This internship program is intended to provide educational and professional development opportunities while supporting compliance with applicable employment, labor, safety, and wage and hour laws.

 ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
  • Gain hands-on exposure to daily transit operations including dispatch, routing, scheduling, KPI tracking, customer service metrics, and service delivery performance management.
  • Learn safety, maintenance, compliance, and regulatory fundamentals including DOT, FTA, ADA, and Company operating standards.
  • Support workforce management initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, retention, employee engagement, and exposure to labor and employee relations processes.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and P&L reviews to understand operational financial performance and compliance considerations.
  • Lead or support a division-focused operational improvement project and present findings and recommendations to operational and executive leadership.
  • Complete weekly progress reports summarizing operational observations, key learnings, project updates, and process improvement recommendations.
  • Observe and follow all applicable workplace safety, confidentiality, anti-harassment, and professional conduct policies during the internship program.
QualificationsPreferred Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate.
  • Applicants must reside locally in Corpus Chrisi, TX or the surrounding area.
  • Interest in operations, leadership, transportation, logistics, or public transit industries.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work full-time for the duration of the internship program.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through coursework, student organizations, athletics, military service, or prior internships preferred.
Compliance & Employment Provisions
  • Interns will be compensated through payroll and subject to applicable withholdings and payroll practices.
  • Work schedules, meal periods, rest breaks, and overtime practices will be administered in accordance with applicable law and Company policy.
  • Nothing in this internship program is intended to interfere with legally protected rights or benefits.
  • Participation in the internship program does not guarantee future employment; however, successful interns may be considered for future opportunities based on business needs and performance.
  • The Company reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the internship program prospectively in accordance with applicable law and business needs.

Compensation

Compensation: $25/hour, administered in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
