Job description

Description
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership's assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.
The Marine Operations Supervisor (Channelview) reports to the Marine Operations Director (Channelview) of Enterprise Marine Services LLC ("EMS"). The Marine Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising all barge readiness, barge and vessel fleeting, and related activities within the Channelview Fleet.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing and supervising all barge readiness activities, such as inspections, special transfer operations, cargo stripping, internal barge inspections, hazard inspections, and various testing activities.
  • Documenting and preparing inspection forms and logs, and publishing/uploading such forms and logs to MobileOps for use by the Operations, Maintenance, and Safety Departments.
  • Addressing complaints and reports from vessel crews regarding barge maintenance, operational, and safety issues, and promptly reporting any such complaints and/or reports to the appropriate departments.
  • Conducting minor barge pump engine and topside repairs as directed by the Maintenance Department.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Department with scheduled and unscheduled barge maintenance activities.
  • Tracking barge work orders and maintenance scheduling and working with the Operations and Maintenance Departments to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Assisting with cargo hose and pipeline testing and certifications, as requested by the Operations Department.
  • Assisting with the renewal of barge and towboat endorsements, licenses, certificates, and certifications, as directed by the Compliance Department.
  • Supporting the Compliance Department with TBSIP activities to ensure compliance.
  • Acting as the Alternate Facility Security Officer for the Channelview Fleet.
  • Assisting the Operations Department with fleet-management and related activities, as directed by the Operations Managers or Marine Operations Senior Director.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of operational safety and efficiency by identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement to the Marine Operations Senior Manager (Channelview).
  • Providing guidance to vessel crews on MobileOps data entry for barge maintenance activities.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with the U.S. Coast Guard, ABS, other government agencies, and customers in relation to barge operations.
  • Providing support to various departments, including Procurement, Personnel, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety, as needed.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in marine dispatch, marine transportation or towing industry, or oil and gas sector required.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% domestically for barge inspections and vessel visits.
  • Valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (T.W.I.C.) required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Proactive and takes initiative in addressing issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in operating office equipment, calculator, VHF radio, radar, and safety devices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changes, prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Software. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
  • Familiarity with administrative operating procedures to comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conscientious, dependable, and committed to the role, team, and company.
  • Results-oriented with excellent customer relations skills.
  • Professional and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Availability to assist the Operations, Safety, and Maintenance Departments on a 24/7 basis.
  • Willingness to ride on ocean-going and inland towing vessels as necessary.
  • Must satisfactorily pass background and drug screen.
