Job description

SSDS Operations & Maintenance Manager
Contingent Upon Contract Award and Customer Approval
Hybrid capabilities available
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a full-time SSDS Operations & Maintenance Manager to oversee the requirements of the Statement of Work (SOW), in Wallops Island, VA.

Job Description:
  • Assists in various types of electronic systems such as SSDS, C4I, Combat Systems, Communication Systems, etc.,
  • Duties include system design, integration, modification, testing, installation engineering, and design engineering, developing and reviewing equipment test plans and procedures, conducting analyses, analyzing test results, and recommending design changes to bring systems into compliance with design/performance specifications.
  • Adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes. Coordinates, computes, or synthesizes engineering or technical data.
  • Uses prescribed mathematical formulae and/or models to calculate measures of performance characteristics for electronic systems.
  • Supervises technical staff assigned to project.
  • Duties include the training of project personnel in the procedures and approaches available for the work effort.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 10 years of Combat Systems experience in the SSDS Mk2 systems to include: tactical employment in support of Surface, Air, and Strike warfare areas.
  • Must have out of the 10 years, at least 8 years of management experience with the Surface Combat Systems, including responsibility for managing technical performance, reliability, maintainability, cost, schedule, and delivery requirements.

Security Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Prefer an Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional travel up to 25%.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
