Capital Project Engineering Co-op - Spring 2027
Where will you work: FishHawk site located in Lithia, FL with regular travel to other sites. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.
The Capital Project Engineering Co-op supports the execution of strategic capital projects, with a strong focus on new process technology execution, schedule and cost management, and safety. The role provides direct field exposure to construction in industrial settings, collaboration with a wide range of roles within project teams, and insight into operational and engineering processes within Mosaic. What you'll do:
  • Support the project manager with meeting management, daily field progress tracking, and updates communicated to leadership for multiple projects
  • Partner daily with field contractors to review FLHAs, participate in toolbox talks, and complete 300in3 safety audits, reinforcing a strong safety culture
  • Support the project manager with daily field progress tracking and updates communicated to leadership
  • Gain exposure to Mosaic's Applied Process Technologies team and broader engineering functions, including process, production, and reliability engineering
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
  • Participate in department meetings and meetings specific to the project design, schedule, and cost meetings .
  • Adhere to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you'll need:
  • Junior level or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Process Engineer
  • 2.75 GPA or higher
  • TWIC Card or ability to get a TWIC card.
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Ability to work full time and be a student in good standing at the time of the co-op/internship
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
