We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Engineer to join our team in Goleta, CA, to drive continuous improvement in the operational planning and manufacturing of our world-class focal plane fabrication and assembly processes.

As an Industrial Engineer at RVS, you will leverage your expertise in data analytics, capacity planning, and process optimization to drive continuous improvement across our semiconductor manufacturing operations. You will play a critical role in analyzing production data, automating workflows, and creating predictive models to achieve operational excellence.

What You Will Do:

  • Automate the creation and maintenance of IE Sales and Operational Planning models to improve the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Build and maintain workcell specific data models used to analyze equipment and labor capacity.
  • Utilize discrete event simulation tools to evaluate resource utilization, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements.
  • Perform analyses of various scenarios to validate improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Create dashboards, visualizations, and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collate data from various sources including ERP software, IoT devices, and data marts to create real-time process models.
  • Update, maintain, design, and communicate layouts of factory work cells based on Continuous Improvement (CI) principles, supporting the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) factory site plan.
  • Collaborate on the deployment of Factory Lean Transformation leading efforts such as 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban implementation, and pull system supermarkets.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in Industrial, Manufacturing, and/or Mechanical Engineering .

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing equipment, methods, and processes.
  • Hands-on experience working in cleanroom environments (Class 5).
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP & Eyelit experience is a plus).
  • Proficiency in 2D drafting software (AutoCAD LT experience is preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with various microscopes and inspection techniques.
  • Experience supporting programs from conceptual phases through preproduction and into production builds.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification with demonstrated experience implementing multiple manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365 Suite with demonstrated ability to extract and manipulate data efficiently (experience with Project and Visio is a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a team-oriented environment.

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
