Position Summary Information
Job Description SummaryThe Graduate Assistant (GA) is assigned to represent the university to undergraduate prospective students, parents, high school counselors, alumni and external constituents. The positions primary responsibility will be to lead the Saturday tour program and information sessions. Reading applications, special projects, answering emails and general support within the office will also apply as needed.
Responsibilities - Lead Saturday Tour program. It is required to be on campus most Saturday mornings between 9 am and 1 pm to welcome families and conduct the information session.
- Conduct tours and presentations of the campus to various visitors. This includes occasional presentations locally off campus.
- Assist with emails, phone calls, and guest engagement as it pertains to the Office of Admission and its front desk & visitor center.
- Varying special project assignments and technical support to help aid in successful recruitment events throughout the enrollment cycle.
- Work with full-time staff members in the reading of freshmen and transfer applications.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - Actively enrolled at Chapman University in a graduate-level program.
- Demonstrated ability to speak and engage interpersonally in a front-facing environment.
- Excellent Organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and as a team.
- Ability to assist in operational guidance with a large team of tour guides.
- Demonstrated ability to use discretion when working with confidential materials.
Desired QualificationsExperience with data entry, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slate or other CRMs.
