As the Operations Expeditor (Site Yard Supervisor), you will support and oversee the daily operations of our distribution and plant yard activities-including ADI driver activity, vehicle loading/unloading, vendor operations, site security, safety compliance, and asset management. Working closely with the Distribution Branch Manager and Plant Manager, you will partner across teams to foster an efficient, safe environment while ensuring equipment maintenance and assets meet Airgas standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Support and guide daily operational functions in the manufacturing yard, including safe motor vehicle execution, loading/unloading of assets, site security, and facility support activities.

* Supervise and balance transportation and vendor schedules to nurture safe traffic flow and ensure alignment with Airgas policies, SOPs, and safety standards.

* Build active hourly partnerships with Production to streamline floor operations, communicate order status and safety metrics, and prevent backlogs in shipping/receiving.

* Collaborate on workforce planning, shift scheduling, and coverage for loading and unloading personnel.

* Track on-site assets (trailers and boxes) to nurture availability and support continuous operational flow.

* Conduct quality assurance verification during loading and offloading to ensure assets meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

* Identify safety hazards, equipment deficiencies, and facility issues, advancing corrective and preventative solutions.

* Coordinate vehicle and trailer maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution in partnership with plant leadership.

* Maintain full compliance with OSHA regulations, Airgas safety policies, environmental requirements, and support continuous improvement initiatives for safety, reliability, and loading efficiency.

* Ensure timely, accurate data entry for inspections and compliance documentation while participating in audits and special projects as directed.

* Operate material handling equipment (including forklifts) on an occasional basis as required, and offer on-call guidance as needed for operational or safety-related issues.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Likely working 4 - twelve hours shifts, per week (Subject to change)

Required Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:A High School diploma combined with extensive experience, specifically including three (3) years of supervising 10+ production workers in an industrial setting.

  • Leadership & Discipline:Strong decision-making skills to enforce company policies, plant procedures, and discipline staff in a fair, professional manner.Familiarity with OSHA regulations and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma)

  • Administration & Communication:Very good written/verbal communication for basic reports, plus organizational skills to manage personnel files, time tracking, and inventory.

  • Math & Computer Literacy:Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email) and higher-level math skills necessary for budgeting and cost control.

  • Environment & Physical Demands:Ability to work and lead a team safely in a noisy environment with elevatedCO_2vapor, including the physical capability to occasionally lift 5-50 lb.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Education:An Associate's degree is preferred

  • Industry Expertise:Prior knowledge of operating specific ice plant machinery (block presses, saws, pelletizers, and valves).

  • Licensing:An active forklift certification.
