Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Manager, NASA Transport Operations & Strategy provides overall leadership for the NASA Transportation program across the Americas. The role is accountable for customer partnership, operational governance, regional growth, financial and workforce planning, and delivery of the strategic roadmap. The position leads both the operational execution and enablement functions, ensuring that daily performance and long-term transformation remain aligned. This position is located at the customer's premises and requires an on-site presence.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Own the NASA Transportation program across all Americas sites, shifts and service locations.
  • Serve as the senior escalation and governance lead for the customer, internal leadership, warehouses, suppliers, contract manufacturers and carrier partners.
  • Set the regional strategy, annual priorities, operating rhythm and critical success factors for the program.
  • Lead, coach and develop the NASA Transport Operations Manager and the Global Transport Enablement & Process Excellence Manager.
  • Oversee regional staffing, succession planning, organizational design, productivity and capacity planning.
  • Provide governance for service performance, on-time-in-full results, failure reason coding, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Own regional budget planning, productivity targets, cost-saving initiatives and business cases for additional scope or resources.
  • Lead onboarding of new sites, carriers, program and customer requirements, ensuring operational readiness and controlled implementation.
  • Coordinate with account management teams and carrier partners to improve service, safety, security, cost and capacity.
  • Drive alignment with EMEA and APAC transport leadership on common standards, reporting and global initiatives.
  • Sponsor AI, automation, data and process-improvement initiatives that reduce manual work and increase scalability.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level business reviews, performance updates, risk summaries and strategic recommendations.
  • Travel to customer, supplier, warehouse and operational locations as required.

Qualifications
Experience and Education Requirements
  • 8+ years experience in complex freight forwarding, specialized carrier management, or enterprise transportation operations / Multi-party stakeholder mastery i.e. proven track record directly managing operations involving competing internal/external customers, multiple vendor classes, and diverse fleets simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-site or regional operations with responsibility for service, customer and financial performance.
  • Strong knowledge of air, road, ocean and parcel transportation and associated operating systems, including TMS, WMS and YMS.
  • Proven capability in strategic account management, organizational change, project implementation and executive stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong commercial judgement, analytical capability and experience translating data into business decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and escalation-management skills.
  • Self-starter with a highly motivated, results-driven approach and the ability to reprioritize in a fast-changing environment.
  • Availability for domestic and international travel, expected at up to 30%.
