The Operational Excellence Program Director, Pharma and Lens Care is a high‑impact leadership opportunity to shape how operational excellence is deployed across the Pharma & Lens Care value stream. As a strategic partner to global manufacturing sites and cross‑functional leaders, you will help establish common operating standards, strengthen continuous improvement capability, and deliver measurable performance improvement across manufacturing, quality, EHS, finance, planning, and procurement. Reporting to the Global Director, Operational Excellence, with an indirect relationship to the Vice President, Manufacturing, this role is ideal for a hands‑on transformation leader who can connect strategy, execution, culture, and financial impact across a global network.

Responsibilities
  • Lead global continuous improvement efforts across the Pharma & Lens Care Operations Business Unit in partnership with GPS functional leaders, including Distribution, Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Safety, and other VSL/OpEx leads.
  • Set the strategic direction for operational excellence maturity, translating business priorities into practical roadmaps that improve performance, reliability, cost, quality, and execution discipline.
  • Partner with site and functional leaders to identify high‑value opportunities, remove barriers, and accelerate value stream improvement initiatives from concept through measurable results.
  • Use structured problem‑solving and disciplined execution methods to address complex operational challenges quickly while building sustainable standards across sites.
  • Coach, facilitate, and educate leaders and teams on continuous improvement tools, Lean/Six Sigma practices, and train‑the‑trainer methods that build lasting capability.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive GPS transformation, strengthen operating rhythms, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and govern standardized cost improvement processes, including project planning, savings validation, tracking, and delivery of initiatives that improve unit cost and gross margin.
  • Champion common operational standards and proven methodologies, including Lean, Six Sigma, dashboards and metrics, Manage for Daily Improvement, Monthly Business Reviews, Strategy Deployment Planning, and productivity/P&L business case evaluation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in a sterile manufacturing environment, operations, or supply chain business unit within pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Global and/or domestic transformation experience across multiple sites, regions, or business units.
  • Demonstrated success leading and managing complex projects and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Global travel is required as needed.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven ability to develop business cases and connect operational performance metrics to financial outcomes.
  • Experience in operating with autonomy in a decentralized, matrixed environment while influencing across functions, sites, and leadership levels.
  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, and change management skills, with experience leading and motivating globally dispersed, multi‑cultural teams.
