This is a 3rd shift role from Sunday - Thursday, 10PM - 6AM.

Job Overview:

Supporting local client dispatching operations on a day-to-day basis, hands on paperwork/administrative controls to maximize efficiency. Work through business continuity models to support operations through adversity.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Customer Service

  • Providing updates to customers on projects/goals/operational check in on pickups/deliveries
  • Participate in customer weekly/daily calls regarding performance and planning
  • Review potential changes and/or improvements with customer, validate internally with operations management team, and roll out changes/improvements to the many drivers and dispatchers involved.

2. Driver Management & Recruiting

  • Support driver hiring and start up initiatives by interviewing and processing drivers
  • Evaluate driver pools and driver capabilities for busy season/special projects
  • Match driver candidates for capabilities that match service needs
  • Work through application questions and concerns
  • Coordinate Recruiting and Safety departments processing of applications

3. Review Problems From Internal & External Customers

  • Interface with customers on expectations and recent issues to help resolve
  • Work with internal customers from cross functional departments to establish needs and processes to complete

4. Operational Tools & infrastructure

  • Work with tools and infrastructure items
  • Tracking and mcnally/skybitz
  • As400 reporting
  • Customer portals and online platforms i.e. Smartsheet

5. Administrative Support

  • Work with administrative teams to complete orders/close out open billing items
  • Develop reporting tools to create processed for additional revenue streams. i.e. detention and bobtail billing

Requirements:

  • 3-5 Dispatch supervisory experience.
  • 5 years of dispatching experience.
  • Ability to actively and effectively act as a team member in a professional manner and in the spirit of TEAM success.
  • This position requires a high school education or equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience in a logistics field, 1 year experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a wide range of people.
