Job description

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking an Operations Supervisor at our Twin Falls factory, to supervise factory operations from sugar beets to sugar and co-products in a safe and efficient manner following Good Manufacturing Practices and the Company's quality program. The Operations Supervisor guides operations personnel to safely ensure maximum production, and minimum costs, consistent with the overall goals of the company and its grower-owners. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
More specifically the Operations Supervisor will supervise the factory production and operations in accordance with the Operating Instructions, company policies and the union agreement. This supervisor provides direct supervision to assigned crew(s) during campaign, inter-campaign, and maintenance periods, in accordance with all company Safety, HR, and Quality policies, as well as other policies where applicable. This includes responsibilities related to personnel scheduling, time management, discipline, performance reviews, incident investigations, and other supervisorial duties as required.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for training and maintaining a safe and efficient crew to include training on proper job procedures.
  • Responsible for personnel safety and the communication of safety throughout the factory, including responsibility for crew safety training, certifications, and equipment licensing.
  • Responsible for supervising and ensuring proper maintenance, writing work orders, reviewing work orders and repairs of factory equipment, as well as new equipment installation and commissioning during inter-campaign.
  • Manage assigned operating and/or maintenance budgetary accounts.
  • Direct authority of factory and warehouse operations in absence of management, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Responsible for quality control of all products and co-products.
  • Coordinate with factory management team members in identifying and resolving issues with factory operations, safety, quality, warehousing, environmental, or employee relations.
  • Capable of developing, analyzing, and communicating process control analysis using PARC view, laboratory analytical data, JDE and MS Excel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of high school.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in factory operations and supervision.
  • Flexibility in work schedule when needed.
  • Extensive knowledge of factory operations and procedures.
