REPORTS TO: Transportation Director
SUPERVISES: N/A
EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated every 3 years by the transportation director
FSLA: Non-Exempt
HOURS:  Monday through Friday 6:30-8:15a, 1:30-3:15p
We are seeking dynamic drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program. 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. A valid chauffeur's license to drive school van
3. Ability to lift 50 lbs
4. Completed required trainings before interacting with students
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
Safety:
 
  • Compliant with all Federal and State laws and mandatory safety regulations for school buses
  • Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
  • Notifies the transportation director in case of mechanical failure or lateness
  • Maintains discipline on the bus and reports any undisciplined students to the proper authority.
    • Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
  • Transports only authorized students
  • Discharges students only at authorized stops
  • Reports all accidents and completes required reports
  • Current on required trainings

Operations and Communication:
 
  • Keeps to assigned bus route & schedule
  • Keeps assigned bus clean
  • Reports to work for assigned schedules
  • Communicates to the transportation director if late or absent 
  • Partners with transportation director when necessary to address parents
  • Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips
  • Performs other duties as assigned
