The Director of Operational Transformation East is responsible for driving operational excellence and execution across the GR NAM East cluster. In this role the Director will combine operational leadership experience with their ability to influence senior leaders across a regional platform. This role operates with a strong focus on stabilization of glass recycling operations, performance tracking/targeted improvements, and profitable investment toward growth

Your Impact in This Role

The Director of Operational Transformation East is responsible for driving operational excellence and execution across the GR NAM East cluster. In this role the Director will combine operational leadership experience with their ability to influence senior leaders across a regional platform.

This role operates with a strong focus on stabilization of glass recycling operations, performance tracking/targeted improvements, and profitable investment toward growth.

Working in close partnership with the Operations Directors, this role establishes the discipline required to measure, control, and continuously improve performance across key sites. A core expectation of the role is the definition, tracking, and active management of key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure performance is visible, actionable, and consistently improving.

The Director will be measured and accountable for the overall performance of regional operations and their ability to support the commercial needs of the business.

Performance Influence & Impact

  • Act as a central performance driver across the cluster, directly influencing operational results including revenue, margin, cost, and cash generation
  • Partner with cluster leader and plant managers to identify gaps, define corrective actions, and drive measurable improvement
  • Support recovery of underperforming operations while enabling sustainable, profitable growth

Performance Measurement & KPI Management

  • Define, implement, and standardize key performance indicators (KPIs) across operational and functions
  • Establish clear targets aligned to safety, reliability, throughput, yield, cost, service, and profitability
  • Support daily, weekly, and monthly performance reviews, ensuring variance is identified, understood, and addressed with urgency
  • Hold functional leaders accountable for delivering performance against agreed KPIs

Operational Recovery & Control

  • Work closely with Operations Director to stabilize, standardize, and improve plant performance
  • Introduce and reinforce structured operating rhythms, control mechanisms, and execution discipline
  • Ensure plant capability, reliability, and throughput are clearly understood and aligned to business requirements
  • Understanding of Commercial Alignment & Insight
  • Develop a strong understanding of commercial drivers, including market conditions, customer requirements, pricing, and volume mix
  • Ensure operational performance is aligned with commercial commitments and constraints
  • Provide insight to support decision-making that balances cost, service, and growth objectives

Growth Enablement

  • Identify and support opportunities for volume growth, margin improvement, and asset optimization
  • Ensure operational readiness to support commercial growth initiatives
  • Challenge existing practices and introduce improvement initiatives that unlock performance

Capability & Team Development

  • Support the development of site and cluster leadership capabilities in performance management, problem-solving, and accountability
  • Reinforce a culture of urgency, ownership, and results orientation
  • Provide coaching and direction to Operations Directors and plant leadership teams

Compliance and Standards

  • Ensure alignment with Sibelco HSE, quality, and sustainability standards through consistent performance monitoring and intervention
  • Promote disciplined execution and adherence to defined standards across all sites

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor level - Mining / Technology (required)
  • Master of Business Administration (desired)
  • Minimum of 7 years of Applicable industry experience in recycling, or waste management
  • Proven track record of P/L delivery
  • Experience working in a KPI driven accountability environment
  • Capital planning and business case development
  • Leadership Development - Oversight of other leaders

Salary

Competitive regional salary with eligibility for annual bonus. Salary is to be determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, alignment with market data and internal equity.
