About the Opportunity

Our client, a leader in sustainable forestry and plant production, is seeking a Senior Grower to join their high-performing nursery operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced horticulture or agriculture professional who is passionate about greenhouse management, crop production, reforestation seedlings, and sustainable growing practices.


With recent investments in modernized facilities and advanced growing technologies, our client is committed to innovation, continuous improvement, and environmental stewardship. The Senior Grower will play a critical role in leading operations, implementing best practices, and driving the success of large-scale seedling and crop production programs.


This state-of-the-art production facility is poised for significant growth, currently producing 25 million softwood conifer seedlings annually, with expansion plans to increase output to 34–45 million seedlings within the next four years. Backed by major capital projects, automation improvements, and site modernization, this is the ideal role for someone eager to grow their career while contributing to the success of a forward-thinking team and industry-leading facility.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of growers and irrigation specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute crop management and risk management plans, ensuring optimal plant health and high-quality seedling production.
  • Oversee greenhouse and outdoor operations, including irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and climate management.
  • Apply and adapt Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies; obtain and maintain a pesticide applicator license as required.
  • Spearhead the development of a mechanized mini plug transplanting program and establish crop plans to maximize reforestation seedling quality.
  • Design and conduct trials to enhance nursery production methods and support innovation.
  • Manage operational planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agrology, or Agriculture (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 8+ years of greenhouse or nursery growing experience, ideally in large-scale or commercial production.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, operational planning, and crop management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of plant physiology, greenhouse systems, irrigation, and pest management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with greenhouse climate control systems is an asset.
  • A proactive, hands-on leader with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • A confident communicator who can work with all levels of the organization and build trusting relationships.
