Who we are looking for:

The Mortgage Servicing Compliance Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive compliance management program that ensures adherence to applicable federal and state mortgage servicing laws, regulations, investor requirements, and company policies. This role provides oversight of compliance controls, regulatory change management, complaint and issue management, monitoring and testing activities, and corrective action plans across mortgage servicing operations. In addition, the role will provide compliance oversight and support for Cornerstone Capital Bank, SSB affiliates Cornerstone Insurance Agency ("CIA") and MetriQ Valuation ("MetriQ").

The Mortgage Servicing Compliance Program Manager partners closely with Servicing, Legal, Risk, Quality Assurance, Audit, and business leaders to identify compliance risks, evaluate operational impacts, and implement sustainable controls. This position is responsible for supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, and compliance reviews while providing guidance and subject matter expertise on mortgage servicing regulatory requirements, including RESPA, TILA, FDCPA, FCRA, UDAAP, loss mitigation, and customer complaint management.

What you'll do:

  • Manage and enhance the Mortgage Servicing Compliance Management System (CMS).
  • Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and other compliance program elements for Cornerstone Capital Bank, SSB and its operating divisions and Affiliates.
  • Assist in tracking changes and updates to laws, rules, and regulations ("LRRs"), regulatory agency policy statements, and guidance to identify when new or revised disclosures, policies or procedures are needed.
  • Periodically review current disclosures, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with ERM partners and the line of business to ensure compliance changes are implemented timely.
  • Ensure completion of risk governance and compliance program activities, as assigned, to include remediation and progression through the issue management lifecycle.
  • Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments across mortgage servicing functions to identify, evaluate, and monitor regulatory compliance risks; assess the effectiveness of existing controls; recommend risk mitigation strategies; and partner with business stakeholders to address control gaps and emerging risks.
  • Support regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory requirements and industry trends.
  • Analyze consumer complaints and servicing issues to identify trends and potential compliance risks.
  • Work on other assigned compliance-related projects, as needed.

What you'll need to be successful:

Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude. In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws applicable to mortgage;
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape, including trends with enforcement actions taken, and remediating regulatory findings;
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills; working directly with regulators and senior management;
  • Strong research and computer skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office;
  • Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to pay significant attention to detail, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in mortgage compliance.
  • Bachelors or equivalent experience preferred
