Summary of Responsibilities:Summary of Responsibilities

The Warehouse Associate provides essential support to the agency floor and warehouse operations, ensuring timely and accurate food distribution to member agencies, exceptional customer service, and adherence to LCFB’s shared maintenance structure. This role supports warehouse shipping operations and is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.

The Warehouse Associate is knowledgeable in receiving procedures and serves as a backup to the Warehouse Coordinator – Receiver/Reclamation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responds to agency inquiries in a timely and professional manner, schedules agency appointments and deliveries, and provides excellent customer service

  • Supports daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient workflow

  • Enters agency orders into Ceres, prints pick tickets, makes necessary adjustments, and prints final invoices

  • Ensures agency invoices are signed and dated at the time of pickup or delivery

  • Maintains and updates the online shopping list

  • Understands and complies with all USDA product distribution requirements

  • Assists the RFC Manager with monthly cycle counts

  • Prepares USDA non-perishable items for allocation by staging pallets, verifying inventory accuracy, staging empty pallets, and ensuring pallet tags are available

  • Assists member agencies, as needed, with submitting agency orders

  • Delivers completed agency orders to vehicles and operates forklifts when possible to load orders

  • Weighs product as needed for invoicing and ensures accurate entry of all required information

  • Verifies accuracy of assembled agency orders prior to scheduled appointments

  • Maintains cleanliness of the agency side of the warehouse according to the established cleaning schedule

  • Ensures the warehouse, cooler, and freezer are organized, properly stocked, and inventory is rotated correctly

  • Maintains building grounds and loading docks to ensure they are clean and free of debris

  • Oversees and verifies volunteer order picking accuracy

  • Maintains warehouse temperature logs as scheduled

  • Opens and/or closes the facility as directed by the RFC Manager

  • Acts as backup to the Warehouse Coordinator – Receiver/Reclamation

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Safety Responsibilities
  • Follows all food safety standards established by LCFB

  • Adheres to all safety protocols related to warehouse operations and use of LCFB equipment


Job RequirementsRequired Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Reliable transportation required

  • Minimum of four years of experience in warehouse operations and customer service

  • Resourceful problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Ability to apply basic math concepts

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems

  • Ability to obtain pallet jack and forklift certification

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with diverse groups

  • Understanding of the non-profit and social service environment

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Willingness to undergo random drug screening

Schedule and Physical Demands
  • Flexible schedule Monday through Saturday, including occasional evenings and weekends for special events
