The Position:
The Assistant Operations Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational execution of assigned client, area, and/or shift. Including effective labor schedule, flow, efficiencies, supervision, and proper utilization of space, equipment, and resources.
The compensation range for this position is $75K-$90K, depending on experience.
This shift works from 3:30pm-12:15am, Sunday through Thursday.
Your Day-to-Day:
  • Accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the warehouse for assigned client, area, and/or shift in the areas of staffing, warehouse operations, maintenance of the facility and equipment, implementation of safety, security, housekeeping and sanitation programs, budgeting, and inventory control.
  • Manage all distribution services of assigned client, area, and/or shift, which may include receiving, storing, shipping, handling return/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements and/or KPIs, if applicable, are met in an efficient manner.
  • Interface with internal partners, including but not limited to Strategic Account Management, Business Process Optimization, Customer Service, Finance, and Human Resources, to identify business opportunities and resolve issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring supervisors, leads, and associates are properly trained on all standard operating procedures, method observations are conducted, and documented per company standards.
  • Develop and communicate clear goals and expectations for assigned staff; provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and MSDS regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • High school Diploma/GED required
  • Four (4) year college degree preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated supervisory experience required (preferably in a warehouse or distribution center environment).
  • Experience must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and policies and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of 3PL, Supply Chain, and Transportation, WMS system preferred
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Control, cycle counts, and a proven track record of inventory accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles and/or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft business applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
  • Experience must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
