Position Summary

We are seeking a Supervisor to oversee and manage day-to-day operations at our Ft, Wayne, IN site. This hands-on leadership role works closely with the Site Manager and Customer to ensure reliable service and strict adherence to safety standards. The Supervisor will lead a team of check-in clerks, maintain operational discipline, and serve as the primary communication link between employees and customers.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach clerks to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and safety; report incidents promptly.
  • Act as the primary contact for clerks and drivers during emergencies.
  • Verify PPE compliance and enforce safety policies.
  • Inspect incoming trailers for cleanliness, structural integrity, and compliance.
  • Reject non-compliant trailers and document findings.
  • Maintain accurate electronic trailer pool inventory (99% accuracy).
  • Record trailer details and update customer systems.
  • Print bills of lading and manifests for outbound shipments.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or yard management.
  • Familiarity with trailer inspection procedures and spotting operations.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and PPE requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic inventory systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors and perform hands-on tasks.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

 

PPE Requirements

  • Steel-toe boots or safety shoes required.
