As an Analyst of Strategic Planning, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term direction of our Customer Success organization. You will be responsible for independently driving the development of a strategic point-of-view on critical business topics, as well as guiding the design of strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conduct analysis of large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights for CSG. Interpret data trends, patterns, and anomalies to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Data Analysis: Perform detailed data analysis and develop complex data models to derive actionable insights and support decision-making processes.

  • Dashboard Development and Maintenance: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau.

  • Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Clean and preprocess raw data to ensure its quality, completeness, and usability for analytical purposes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data preprocessing pipelines.

  • Feature Engineering: Identify and create relevant data features to enhance model performance and accuracy. Work closely with domain experts to extract valuable insights and incorporate to improve data processes.

  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports for executive leadership and stakeholders, effectively communicating trends, patterns, and predictions through clear and insightful visualizations and narratives.

  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions. Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate data science solutions into existing systems.

Collaborative Partners
While this role is an individual contributor (IC) role, you will be expected to collaborate with various teams to drive the successful definition and planning of strategic initiatives. You will work closely with the following teams and individuals:

  • Data & Analytics Resources: Partner with data and analytics team members to interpret data analyses and identify data-driven insights to ultimately drive strategic planning and inform executive decision-making.

  • Internal Cross-Functional Experts: Work across various teams and individuals to uncover business context, gather insights, align stakeholders and understand high-level operational requirements around POVs & initiatives. This internal network will be key to transforming a big bet from a theoretical POV into the rhythm of the business.

  • Project/Program Management: Collaborate with project and program managers to ensure the effective planning, design and delivery of strategic initiatives.

Role Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Math/Statistics or a related field. PhD preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in roles requiring data, business analytics, financial due diligence, strategic planning and business acumen. Background as an engagement manager in Big 4, management consulting or strategy highly preferred.

  • Technical expertise: regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.

  • Proficiency with databases (SQL, etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Python/R, Excel etc.)

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).

  • Self-Driver: Proven ability to synthesize multiple sources of information into a compelling strategic point of view. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving and occasionally ambiguous environment.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating effectively with stakeholders, communicating complex topics using simple language and building organizational consensus.

  • Analytical Skills: Familiarity with data and analytics concepts, able to work with data professionals to translate data-driven insights into actionable recommendations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, fostering collaboration and alignment. Experience managing complex projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and successful implementation.
