Job description

This position functions as part of an Agile team with heavy understanding and usage of the Azure DevOps tool as part of the required skillset. The System Analyst 3 is responsible for gathering, documenting, and testing clear, unambiguous business requirements from the client. Understanding the business requirements thoroughly in order to communicate business needs and system functionality to technical and non-technical stakeholders, project team members, and the user community. The System Analyst serves as the ScrumMaster (heavy usage of Azure DevOps tool) on projects and coordinates with the PMO’s Project Manager for artifacts/documentation needed on State of Michigan projects.
The System Analyst is responsible for working with the project team and stakeholders to examine existing and future-state business processes, data, and systems. This information is used to guide the gathering of business requirements and executing test cases as they relate to the desired system.

Job Duties
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
  • Develop process flows, use cases, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
  • Create test plans, test scenarios, and detailed test cases based on requirements.
  • Execute functional, integration, and regression testing; log and track defects.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate with business partners.
  • Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
  • Assist with system demonstrations, training materials, and production validation.
  • Ensure documentation remains accurate and updated throughout the project lifecycle


Requirements
3 years:
  • Business Analyst
  • Quality Assurance Analyst
  • Azure DevOps Knowledge – or similar tool like JIRA (comfortable with creating epics/features/user stories for projects as well as moving cards through project lifecycle)
  • Understanding of BA, QA, DEV roles/responsibilities
  • Experienced with as-is/to-be processes and content creation
  • Experience with creating product roadmap
  • Familiarity with Project Management Methodologies/Agile
  • Adept with using BA/QA tools (e.g., FIGMA, Visio
Desired Skills
  • Previous work experience as a QA

Location
  • Local candidates only. The candidate must reside within 1-hour of Lansing, MI by the time of submission.
  • Position is a hybrid schedule NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week. This position has on-site/in person workdays on Tuesday/Wednesday.
  • Working hours Monday-Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
