Operations Administrative Assistant - Temp-to-Perm
Location: Middle River, MD
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch
Work Arrangement: In-office
Pay: $21-$24/hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-perm
About the Role
LHH is partnering with a growing organization in Middle River, MD seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Operations Administrative Assistant to support its day-to-day operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities, customer service, data entry, documentation, and coordination with warehouse and transportation teams . You will play an important role in keeping deliveries, paperwork, inventory information, and communication organized and moving efficiently.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, adaptable, and comfortable interacting with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal teams throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary administrative contact at the receiving window for drivers, carriers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Check in incoming drivers and review shipping and delivery paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to communicate arrivals and direct drivers appropriately.
  • Process completed delivery documentation and enter accurate information into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Update inventory, shipment statuses, delivery information, and related operational records.
  • Review and process driver logs, bills of lading, inventories, freight bills, accessorial charges, and other documentation.
  • Scan, upload, organize, and route documents through company systems to support billing and payroll processes.
  • Assist with receiving incoming freight and verifying quantities and condition against shipping documentation.
  • Tag, label, and track incoming freight to support accurate inventory control.
  • Maintain organized files, logs, spreadsheets, and other operational records.
  • Prepare inventory reports, delivery documentation, and other reports as needed.
  • Communicate with customers regarding shipment information, delivery schedules, and service updates.
  • Coordinate with customer service, warehouse personnel, drivers, carriers, and third-party vendors.
  • Provide administrative support for final-mile delivery activities and other operational functions.
  • Assist with third-party services at origin and destination locations and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify discrepancies or missing information and work with the appropriate team to resolve issues.
  • Support the Operations team with additional administrative projects and responsibilities as assigned.
