Job description

Job Summary:
Reports directly to the EMR Trainer and Clinic Administrator and would be a member of the eClinical Works Team that handles the day-to-day functions that support the operation of the clinic. Ensure that the system, as well as personnel utilizing the system adheres to the core organizational values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• General knowledge on EMR applications and functionality.
• General knowledge of front office, billing, clinical and reporting systems.
• Participates in testing system workflows and any necessary modifications of these materials.
• First level system support and involved in the training and knowledge transfer of system to the staff (Physicians, Mid-Levels, Nurses, Medical Assistants, and other Administrative groups) including template building, and template modification.
• Provide software support calls in regard to the use of clinical applications.
• Keeps documentation current with each new EMR release and /or relevant process change.
• Works with EMR users to determine timing of new releases, updates and patches; develops written requests to vendor for new function.
• Stays updated on trends related to eClinicalWorks through participation with online
• Coordinates with IT Support Services and Infrastructure staff as needed to resolve problems and to schedule changes to or for the EMR.
• Uses the IT Ticket System to document and track EMR problems and resolution.
• Assists in creation and validation of EMR custom reports as needed.
• Conducts random chart audits to ensure accuracy of medical records.
• Provides application support to users and perform training of clinical applications.
• Ensures notes are locked in a timely manner based on protocol. Follows up with Senior Managers to ensure the correct action is taken.
• Demonstrates solid customer service skills with a high level of professionalism and ability to work in complex situations.
• Coordinates with IT Support Services and others in the implementation of current International Classification of Disease (ICD) for the eCW system when it is available.
• Collaborate and coordinate internally with Physicians, Directors, Managers and Staff for any EMR related upgrade, interface and related matters.
• Coordinate with external partners on EHR interfaces such as DLS, Avreo and DPHSS HER system
• Maintains a professional attitude and appearance.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
1. Graduate of Associate Degree or two (2) year course in related field preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in the medical field.
3. Effective team player. With very good interpersonal relationship skills and can work and relate well with co-employees, patients and customers.
4. Must have the behavioral sensitivity, maturity, diplomacy and tact in addressing complex situations and handling irate customers.
5. Good oral and written communication skills.
6. Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
7.  Must have basic familiarity on federal and state laws and requirements relating to healthcare management.
8. Computer literate and very highly proficient in using MS office programs including excel program.
