Job description

A growing business services company headquartered in the East Coast is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. This role must reside in the state of NY or NJ.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, manage a small team, and serve as a key financial partner to executive leadership. This is a high-visibility role with meaningful growth potential within a dynamic and expanding firm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure departmental compliance with policies and procedures
  • Own GL management, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Collaborate with the CFO on monthly financial statement preparation
  • Oversee journal entry process
  • Support reporting, and periodic financial and bank audits
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across the Accounting department and broader organization

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience & Education

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time as manager
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance with relevant accounting coursework
  • CPA license preferred, or significant progress toward certification
