Job Description

David Weekley Homes is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the Accounting and Finance team at our Houston home office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounting, Team Member development, project management and leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of 4 to accomplish team objectives
  • Oversee the month-end close process, produce timely and accurate financial statements
  • Review journal entries, monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the annual external Audit and quarterly Bond compliance
  • Manage special projects and perform ad hoc analysis
  • Set up accounting processes for new business initiatives
  • Identify and drive process improvement, working with existing automation tools, and facilitate development of new tools
  • Respond to questions from operations and senior management timely, providing a high level of support
Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in Accounting, required
  • At least 5 years of management experience in an Accounting field
  • At least 3 years of financial analysis experience
  • Strong technical skills and ability to pick up new things quickly
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Comfortable working with all levels of management
  • Ability to recognize and adapt communication style to needs of recipient
  • Strong commitment to provide superior customer service
  • JDE and Essbase experience a plus
