Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree. Certified Public Accountant designation is desired.

Utilizing strong analytical skills, the Sr Accounting Specialist develops, implements, and maintains accounting processes related to journal entries, the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and revenue reconciliations. This role reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations; balances books; prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income, and balance sheet statements; and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or an equivalent field, plus a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
  • Financial analysis, account reconciliation, and financial-report preparation experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.

Representative Duties and Tasks
  • Prepare, analyze, and evaluate financial information associated with banking and cash-management transactions for multiple companies within the financial service center.
  • Monitor daily bank activity; resolve payment, posting, international wire, site-location, and returned-vendor-check issues.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reporting documentation, analysis, and monthly balance-sheet account reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external financial audits, weekly miscellaneous check deposits, monthly tax ACH payments, and accounts payable activities.
  • Perform special projects requiring complex financial analysis.
